In its second weekend in theaters, Inside Out 2 remains the year's top-grossing film. The sequel, now from Disney and Pixar, has $355 million in North America and $724 million worldwide, surpassing Dune: Part Two, which had $282 million domestically and $711 million globally. On the off chance that this pace continues, Inside Out 2 will be the first movie from 2024 to hit $1 billion worldwide.

The sequel has added $164.4 million in 44 countries in its second weekend. With $369.2 million, it emerged as the third-biggest foreign opening of the year, right after Godzilla x Kong with $371 million and Dune: Part Two with $429 million. Some top markets for the movie include Mexico with $63.9 million, the UK with $29.2 million, Korea with $29 million, Germany with $17.9 million, and Brazil with $17.3 million. The film opens on August 1 in Japan, its final primary market.

The $200 million, PG-rated Inside Out 2 renews Pixar's box office boom. Favorable reviews and word-of-mouth enhance ticket sales and popularity. It grossed $32.2 million worldwide to become the fourth-highest-grossing animated picture in Imax history.

Universal and Illumination's Despicable Me 4 opened overseas to $9.4 million from four smaller markets, including Australia, with $4.6 million, and Argentina, with $3.4 million. Those are both well before the previous Despicable Me pictures, and they point toward yet another blockbuster.

Sony's Bad Boys for Life earned $24.1 million from 66 countries, lifting its international total to $142.2 million and its worldwide total to $289.1 million. In China this weekend, the picture grossed $2.8 million. Then, there's also A Quiet Place: Day One on June 28, Twisters on July 19, and Deadpool & Wolverine on July 26, which theaters are banking on to keep the trend rolling this summer.
