Pity the heroes who have sleepless nights: Samantha

There is a debate that heroines should get equal pay. They should get equal remuneration as heroes do, the argument goes.
Samantha feels that it's wrong to expect equal pay. "We can't compare ourselves with heroes, who are under immense pressure. For example, since 'U Turn' is my film, there is pressure on me. The producer has to make money and I feel the pressure. This is the kind of pressure the heroes face for every film.
That's why there is inequality in the pay. They have sleepless nights. 'Paapam' heroes! The budgets are huge and it's their responsibility to bring in the collections in the first 3 days," the 'U Turn' actress says, empathizing with the heroes, who charge big-time.
"The day heroines too start doing that, we can fight for equal pay. There is a reason why heroes get that much salary. A film's fate depends on them," she adds.
She admires Nayanthara for a reason. "In Tamil, 'Kolamavu Kokila' is making big monies solely on the basis of Nayan's stardom. She is paving the way for other girls to follow. The more we start doing this, we can also talk about equality," Sam analyzes.
