A picture of Mollywood superstar and MP Suresh Gopi lighting a candle and offering prayers at St. Mary’s shrine in Pala, popularly known as ‘Pala Kurishupally’ has gone viral on social media. The actor who has been filming for Nithin Renji Panicker's much-awaited directorial 'Kaaval' recently completed the shoot and was returning to Trivandrum.
Interestingly, the first shot of the actor's ambitious 250th movie 'Ottakomban' was also canned in front of this church. He also visited the St. Jude Pilgrim Centre in Kizhathadiyoor.
The movie has been in the news after Jinu, the writer of Prithviraj-Shaji Kailas' movie 'Kaduva', approached the court complaining that it had similarities with theirs. The court's verdict was out recently that stated a ban of Suresh Gopi's project.
Following the ban, ‘Ottakomban’ team is said to have re-written the entire plot with the central character. ‘Ottakkomban’, originally named ‘Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan’ before it was changed, is produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam under the banner of Mulakuppadam Films. The movie's motion poster was released recently and had created a storm on social media.
