'Pichaikaran' (2016) directed by Sasi and starring music director turned actor Vijay Antony became a huge blockbuster hit not only in Tamil but also in Telugu where it was released as 'Bichakadu'. The shooting of the sequel to the film started several months back and is now nearing completion.

Vijay Antony has revealed the hot update that Star Network has acquired the satellite and digital rights of 'Pichaikaran 2' for four languages namely Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film will be released in Summer 2023.

'Pichaikkaran 2' marks the directorial debut of Vijay Antony who plays dual roles of Bikili and the antagonist Ani Bikili with Kavya Thapar playing the female lead opposite him. Dev Gill, Harish Peradi, John Vijay, Radha Ravi, Mansoor Ali Khan, YG Mahendran and Raja Krishnamoorthy are among the supporting cast. Produced by Vijay Antony Film Corporation, the sequel is cinematographed by Vijay Milton and Om Prakash.
