It has been reported that six participants in the last stage of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine trials died recently. As many as 44,000 persons have participated in the trial.
Six people have died but only two of them were given the vaccine, reports say. The rest of them received a placebo. As such, their deaths have little to do with the vaccine.
As per a Reuters report, no causal relationship was established between the vaccine and the two deaths, which occurred in line with the normal death rate for the general population.
Meanwhile, Vox has reported that, if the US FDA formally approves the Pfizer vaccine for emergency authorization, as many as 6.4 million vaccine doses likely to be shipped out in the US this week.
