Rajini's Petta, produced by Sun Pictures, and Ajith's Viswasam, produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, are releasing worldwide on January 10, a few days ahead of Pongal. Even though it was expected that one of the movies would be postponed to a different date, official confirmation has been made that both the movies are going to hit the screens the same day. 

While the promotions for the movies have been happening in full swing with the release of singles, teasers, and trailers, the most surprising thing happened today when Sun Pictures decided to promote their opponent, Viswasam. The lyric video of the super-hit song Adchi Thooku was aired on Sun Music at 11 AM IST today. 

With a healthy competition on the way, fans are eagerly anticipating the release of both the movies. Petta has been directed by Karthik Subbaraj, while Viswasam has been directed by Siva.
