Petrol bomb hurled at theatre screening ‘Valimai’

‘Valimai’, starring Ajith in the lead, hit the screens today in a massive way in Tamil Nadu. Reportedly, in Coimbatore alone, the action thriller has been screened on more than 20 screens.

The news is that, at a multiplex in the Tamil Nadu town, a petrol bomb was hurled outside the cinema hall by an unidentified assailant. Nobody was injured in the attack. A police investigation to trace the culprit is on.

In its report detailing the incident, The New Indian Express said that the incident occurred at Ganga Cine Complex when two unidentified men riding on a bike hurled bombs at the theatre premises.

The high-profile movie, directed by H Vinoth, has reportedly been made at a cost of Rs 150 Cr. It has Huma Qureshi in a key role, while Kartikeya Gummakonda is its villain. The film has been released in Telugu as well. Bike chases and other sequences are a highlight of the movie.
