This year a new category of award has been introduced in the National Awards. It is for the Stunt Choreography.

Stunt Choreographer Peter Hein wins the first National Award ever given under this category for his work in the Malayalam blockbuster 'Puli Murugan' ('Manyam Puli' in Telugu), starring Mohanlal in lead role.

It is worth noting that Aishwarya Dhanush Rajinikanth who is presently making a documentary on stunt artists of Indian Cinema had last year met and requested Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu to include a National award for Stunt Choreographers and her request seems to have been immediately fulfilled by the Indian Government.

Unarguably one of the most famous stunts choreographers ever, Peter has worked for such films as 'Magadheera', 'Shivaji: The Boss' and 'Baahubali'. Mahesh Babu's 'SPYder' is one of his upcoming movies.
