After the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, John Abraham, Madhavan and a host of other celebrities, here comes Trisha to advocate the cause of showing love and affection towards animals.

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has signed up the actress as the Goodwill Ambassador for the Angel for Animals campaign which is expected to be formally announced on June 10.

If reports are to be believed, the pretty actress will appear in an angelic avatar to campaign for the adoption of stray dogs and urge people to provide them with caring homes.

It may be recalled that Trisha, who saw an injured dog when she was shooting for a Telugu film in Hyderabad, gave treatment to it, brought the pet to Chennai and later named it ‘Cadbury’.

"The PETA officials approached me for the cause after they came to know about my love for dogs. I agreed whole heartedly. I am happy to campaign for a noble cause," she says.
