On Sunday, actor and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan introduced to the world a chauffeur. Named Hakim, this guy has been described by the actor as a "everyday hero". We find that Hakim's pet issues, namely, women's safety and anti-domestic abuse, are also close to Pawan's heart.
"Every time I visit London, Mr. Hakim helps chauffeur me around. He hails from Bangladesh, and his family has been settled in London since generations. He never uttered a word other than regular greetings all these years. But yesterday, he advised me that in my political journey, I should never forget to give importance to women's safety and domestic abuse issues and taking care of senior citizens. He wanted me to make sure that these issues are given utmost importance, which I agreed," Power Star began saying.
"His reverence for Gandhiji deeply touched my heart. Being a devout Muslim and having visited Mecca recently, he said, "No religion teaches violence and abuse of women". These words of wisdom came from a life lived against hardships, going through trials and tribulations of life. In social sphere, we may take individuals like them for granted. But for me they are teachers who teach what magnanimity and generosity of spirit should be," he further says.
One final time, Pawan puts out the definitions of an everyday hero in another post on Twitter: "An everyday hero is a person of integrity with a will of compassion to serve others. A person who demonstrates an honest faith when the odds are stacked against him serves as a hero. Someone who validates life while in suffering and teaches others to do the same are considered heroes."
