Madhya Pradesh: A pet dog saved a man from a tiger in a village in Seoni on Monday. Pancham Gajba and his brother had gone inside the forest in order to relieve themselves. At this point of time, a tiger attacked Gajba when he was breaking off a branch from a tree. His brother was at a distance, and the 22-year-old man did not have any other humans there to help him. There was a four-legged hero however who saved the day.
Gajba narrated the incident saying that he was pinned down by the tiger. He said: “Before it could get at my throat, the dog started barking. I had a near-death experience.” The dog continued to bark till the tiger retreated. The villagers who were alerted by the noise also came to help Gajba. The tiger finally went back into the jungle.
Gajba sustained injuries on his head and hands. He was taken to a hospital at Kurai. People have been advised against visiting the jungle by forest officials.
