Peshawar: Suicide attack in mosque kills nearly 50

Pakistan today witnessed a deadly bomb blast inside a mosque in Peshawar. At the time of the calamitous incident, more than 250 people were there inside the mosque. It was a suicide attack.
As per the latest reports, nearly 50 people died on the spot. And at least three times the number of dead were injured.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has been quoted as saying that it was a terrorist attack. Later the TTP claimed responsibility for the blasts.
Dr. Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan, wrote, "I strongly condemn the heinous & cowardly blast that has taken place in Peshawar mosque. The perpetrators will be found and punished."
Soon enough, former Pakistan PM Imran Khan took to Twitter and wrote, "My prayers and condolences go to the victims' families. It is imperative we improve our intelligence gathering and properly equip our police forces to combat the growing threat of terrorism."
