With Joy Mathew entering the 'Peruchazhi' controversy, things have become epic in proportion. Actor-Director Joy Mathew had commented that attacking and targeting Mohanlal for the 'attapady dialogue' is simply in bad taste. He had commented that Dr. Biju, if so concerned about the adivasis should join them for the strike they are conducting for land rights. He alleged that Biju's statements are filled with hypocracy. He added that equating the term 'attapady' with adivasis is in itself not correct, afterall there are no tribals of that name.

In reply, Dr. Biju asked if the this is the same Joy Mathew who called him up, late at night abusing him using his caste name, alleging that it was because of his presence in the National Awqrd Committe that Joy Mathew missed out on the award. Biju added that such a person has no right whatsoever to make such statements and that he very well knows how to show concern for the adivasis. The case which Biju filed then is still pending.
