Andhra Pradesh Cinematography Minister Perni Nani today said that he is not aware whether Megastar Chiranjeevi has sought an appointment with Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy. The Minister said that distributors had sought an appointment with him and met with him today. "They have urged for an increase in minimum ticket charges," the Minister said.
"After the recent order by the High Court, we have constituted a Committee to look into the issue of cinema ticket prices," he further added.
Nani clarified that he never said that 'RRR' is a hyped-up movie. "We won't be deploying separate rules for different movies, unlike in the previous government," he added, in reference to the TDP government giving tax exemptions to 'Gautamiputra Satakarni' to allegedly favour Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Nani further touched upon the need for an integrated online ticketing system. "It will help the audience, the distributors, producers, and the government as well," he said.
Nani remarked that actor Siddharth, who recently questioned the government's policy stance on the cinema ticket prices, doesn't know the reality of how politicians live in AP. The Minister suggested that, as someone who lives in Tamil Nadu, the 'Maha Samudram' actor must have made the remarks against Tamil politicians.
