Periyar, the movie on the rationalist leader, will be released on 2 February, 2007. According to K Veeramani, President, Dravidar Kazhagam, “The shooting for the movie is all over. The movie went to floors on 10 July and the director Gnanarajasekaran shot the film in various places including Pollachi, Chennai, Kerala, Malaysia, Germany and Russia.”

Speaking about the movie, Veeramani said, “Sathyaraj as Periyar is an apt choice. He did not just play the character but lived like the rationalist leader. He has given his best performance and will surely win greater laurels.”

”With post-production works happening in full swing, we are hopeful of getting the censor certification by the end of January, 2007. Periyar will hit the screens on 2 February,” said the director of the film, Gnanarajasekaran.
