He is called the master of commercial cinema. His movies are loaded with punch dialogues and pacy numbers that have become very successful hits in the industry. Director-lyricist Perarasu says, ' I am here to stay and do more'.

He has so far directed five films including ‘Sivaksi’, ‘Thirupachi’, ‘Thirupathy’, ‘Dharmapuri’ and ‘Pazhani’.

Currently directing Arjun for 'Thiruvannamalai', produced by K Balachander's Kavithalaya, Perarasu, says, 'I would come up with a non-commercial in future. I entered the industry with a different intention. But to survive I had to switch to mainstream cinema. Once I gain a firm foothold in the industry, I may come up with a non-commercial film'.

On the secret of his success, Perarasu says, 'If I am directing a film with a hero, I become his fan first. So I put together a formula to make the film a box-office hit. This leads to the hero's success and in turn producers and distributors get their money back and the fans are immensely pleased'.
