Indra Nooyi needs no introduction. She is one of the most fortunate women of colour to lead one of the world’s leading Fortune 500 company, PepsiCo. Her story is something which keeps inspiring youngsters from India to shine on the global platform. She is a symbol of women’s development.
Indra Nooyi who is the CEO of PepsiCo will be stepping down from her responsibilty on October 3. Nooyi will be replaced by the company’s Global Operations Chief Ramon Laguarta. Nooyi helped Pepsi turn into one of the world’s most successful beverages company. During her 12 year tenure alone, teh company recorded a growth of a whopping 80%.
Nooyi was born in Chennai and her alma maters were Madras Christian College and IIM, Calcutta before she joined Yale University.
Nooyi has been with Pepsi for 24 long years. “Growing up in India, I never imagined I'd have the opportunity to lead such an extraordinary company,” she said. Laguarta who is Nooyi’s successor has been the President of Pepsi since September 2017.
