From getting critical acclaim to raking in moolah, 'Pelli Choopulu' has had it all. Released last month, the rom-com had impressed members of the film fraternity and critics even before its release. Producer Raj Kandukuri, who had teamed up with newcomer Tharun Bhascker at the prodding of D Suresh Babu, has been a happy man. As for the other stakeholders, they are upbeat about the film's commercial performance.

Our review befittingly said, "A mature rom-com that can entertain both youngsters and elders. Fine performances, neat dialogue, situational humour - you have everything". In due course, the film has gone on to bag appreciation from the likes of SS Rajamoui, no less. "Enjoyed #Pellichupulu so much..still in the same mood remembering all the beautiful moments from the film. Writing, direction, performances", Rajamouli tweeted, losing no time in endorsing the rom-com.

As for Vijay Devarakonda and Ritu Varma, they have been flooded with congratulatory messages. Thanks to the film, they are now poised to go places, so also the director Bhascker.

In the US, where the distributor bought the new-age rom-com for a small amount, 'Pelli Choopulu' is about to cross the USD 1M mark. This is nothing less than a feat for a film made on a humble budget, almost entirely with new cast and crew members. What's more, ten screens have been added in that Overseas market this week. No wonder, this one is one of the most talked-about small-ticket 'big' film in recent times.
