‘Peddi’ Defies Expectations Overseas, Clocks Strong $4.85 Million First Week Gross

Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s sports drama Peddi has completed its first week at the box office on an impressive note. Despite receiving mixed reviews from a section of critics and facing predictions of a slowdown after the opening weekend, the film has continued to attract audiences and post steady collections across key markets.

While the Telugu states remain the film’s biggest strength, Peddi has also delivered a surprisingly strong performance overseas. Many trade observers expected the film’s international run to be limited, but the movie has exceeded expectations in several territories outside India.

By the end of its first week, Peddi had reportedly amassed an overseas gross of approximately $4.85 million (Rs 46 crore), making it one of the strongest international performances for a solo Ram Charan starrer.

North America contributed around $3.1 million to the total, a figure that fell short of the lofty expectations surrounding such a high-profile release. However, the film more than made up for it with solid collections from markets including the UK-Ireland region, Australia, and several other overseas territories, helping boost its overall international tally.

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru, Peddi features Ram Charan in the role of a determined sportsman. The film’s emotional narrative, sports backdrop, and strong word-of-mouth in several centers have helped it sustain momentum beyond its opening weekend.

With a strong first-week performance both domestically and overseas, Peddi has silenced many early doubts and is now looking to capitalize on its positive box-office trend in the coming days.
