Don't go by the title. Peddalaku Matrame is touted to be an entertainer with a message. It tells the story of a young woman who wages a relentless battle to extricate herself from the entangling web she has been caught in. The woman, who successfully escapes from a pimp belonging to the local red light area, only falls in the trap of a painter. How does she save herself from the lecher?

The film is directed by JV Rukmangadan. It will be released on Feb. 3 in four languages - Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi. The film has got all the commercial elements, and they are interspersed with a message for the youth who have lost their track.

Starring Prasanna Don and Kamalika, it is written and music-directed by the director himself. M Ammiraju is the dialogue- and song-writer.
