Tamil cinema has been filled with horror movies and horror comedies, as they have always been safe bets at the box office, as it has been proven with hits like Muni franchise, Yaamirukka Bayamey, Aranmanai etc to name a few, and joining the long list of horror entertainers is the upcoming movie Pechi.

Pechi is directed by debutant Ramachandran, who had been appreciated by ace cinematographer and director, the legendary Balu Mahendra for his short film Pechi, and the movie is bankrolled by Veyilon entertainments. The first look poster of Pechi was launched by Suriya, Vijay Sethupathi and Aishwarya Rajesh.

Pechi is said to explore a new area of horror which has never before been presented on screens, and will be shot in deep forests over a period of 30 days. Director Ramachandran has reportedly made an extensive study on witchcraft and supernatural powers for making the movie, and the movie is expected to offer an adventurous treat for movie buffs. Pechi has music by Justin Prabhakaran.
