DC Extended Universe's new reboot of the Dark Knight, Matt Reeves' directorial "THE BATMAN", was released in theatres worldwide yesterday and is gaining raging positive reviews from the critics and the franchise's fans. It stars Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight, Zoe Kravitz as the Cat Woman, Paul Dano as the Riddler.
The new Batverse is set in DCEU's Earth 2 where the other DC characters or Justice League didn't exist as of now. So, it is clear that Warner Bros Pictures is building a fresh universe of the caped crusader. The makers have confirmed that a Bat trilogy is under development with Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson. Several spin-offs are also in plans for Earth 2.
Indiaglitz had earlier updated you that Marvel's "Eternals" actor Barry Keoghan will be playing 'The Joker', the main villain in the sequel. Now, new speculation has popped up among the Hollywood media circle that actress Anya Taylor-Joy might essay the role of Dr Harleen Quinzel aka Harley Quinn, a comic relief henchwoman of the Joker. She is currently in talks and it’s unclear when the character could show up in the franchise.
Previously, Anya has played an orphan chess prodigy, Elizabeth Harmon, in Netflix's drama miniseries "The Queen's Gambit" and Gina Gray in BBC's crime gangster drama/historical fiction series, "Peaky Blinders". Notably, famous actress Margot Robbie has previously played Harley Quinn in DCEU and the fans are wondering whether Anya Taylor will be able to fill her shoes.
