Rarely does Pawan Kalyan open up; that's why when he speaks everybody listens. In a recent interview, Pawan revealed his mind in a way he had never done in the past. From speaking about his bookish interests to how he viewed martial arts as an adolescent, he spoke a lot.

Contrary to our belief that Pawan was a practitioner of martial arts even as a teen, he actually made fun of the arts. It was Naga Babu who was the first one in the household to evince interest in martial arts. Later, when Pawan realized that he was not capable of fighting back, he started to concentrate on learning martial fights. He says that the learning has changed the way he looked at fighting as such.

As for his interests in non-curricular books, he says that he was greatly interested in astronomy as a school-goer. In Intermediate, he opted for Mathematics out of sheer desire to be seen with admiration by friends and family, but opted out of the group after two days because he could not understand the subject.

Among his other passions are bikes.
