Pawan sensation: Tammudu's 'kummudu' of PRP

It's curious that, on the third anniversary of Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan should make news for being brutally honest about the now-dead Praja Rajyam Party. Founded in 2008 by Chiranjeevi, the party came a cropper in 2009 polls, turning out a mere 18 seats. Although the vote share was a decently fair (for a maiden party) 16 per cent, Chiru didn't think twice before merging the party with the Congress two years later. As for Pawan, the youth wing leader of the party didn't even utter a word about politics or PRP's death for five years. On March 14, 2014, he founded his own outfit, only to campaign for others!
"I experienced it directly. I saw individuals belonging to various parties join PRP with their own self-centred agendas. That's why I am careful," he said yesterday. But even three years after the launch of Jana Sena, he is yet to make progress with forming a cadre and district-level leadership.
He further said that neither Chiranjeevi or he has thoughts about the former joining the Jana Sena. He made it clear that their thinking is not the same. As a member of Rajya Sabha, Megastar stares at a bleak political future, now that Congress is almost defunct in Andhra Pradesh. On the other hand, Pawan says his party will contest the 2019 polls in a full-fledged way. Frankly, Tammudu's 'kummudu' of PRP seems to be the last thing Annayya must have expected.
