Looks like Women's Day is a special day not without a reason. It's not just about consumerism, tokenism and the like. It's a day when woman achievers take an opportunity to make a statement. It's a day when male celebs put out their genuine views about women and their uniqueness for public awareness (or otherwise). If Raashi Khanna has made a special video for this day, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu and NTR have done their bit to inculcate in boys/men a sense of respect for the 'pillars' of strength in their lives.

In his capacity as the chief of Jana Sena Party, Powerstar has given a call for working towards women's equality and equal opportunities, and ending female foeticide.

Mahesh Babu and NTR, on the other hand, have given a thumbs-up to the special women and/or girl child in their lives. Earlier today, sharing the pics of his mother and daughter, Mahesh tweeted, "Be beautiful. Be loved. Be respected. Be proud. Be strong. Be happy. Celebrating the incredible and everlasting spirit of all the women all over the world."

NTR, who revers his mother and always gives her the credit for what he is, and who respects his wife's support, said, "True happiness is when we make our women smile. Celebrating the spirit of #WomensDay with the two most important women in my life."

In the era of social media, such gestures from super-celebs and celebs will go a long way in promoting healthy attitudes towards women.
