Actor and Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan has urged the political leadership of Andhra Pradesh to make a representation to the Centre against the proposal to privatize the Dredging Corporation of India, the CPSE in Vizag.
"I request AP MPs to give a representation to Hon. PM Sri. Narendra Modi Ji not to privatize the profit-making the DCI by taking a cue from Tamilnadu CM, who has appealed the PM not to privatize the Salem steel plant despite it running in losses. If Tamilnadu leaders could stand by their people for a similar issue there and I wonder what prevents the AP leaders to do the same," Pawan said.
"On the political periphery of AP, the issue of DCI privatization might look trivial to New Delhi but with the background of a haphazard bifurcation process and denial of constitutionally promised special category status - who knows how things might turn," he wrote, sounding a note of caution.
"The time has come to put an end to personal and party-centric politics and we have to bring back the accountability in politics. Otherwise, the younger and future generations will pay a hefty price irrespective of caste, creed, region and religion," the 'Angyaathavaasi' actor tweeted in another post.
