Ahead of the Nirasana Kavathu of his party, in Visakha district, on July 7, Pawan Kalyan addressed a huge rally in Gajuwaka on Thursday. The Jana Sena chief was in his elements.
True to his style, Pawan relied on his knack for imitating the powers-that-be in taking a dig at them. He showed the crowd how political leaders behave while seeking votes, only to put up a diametrically opposite body language after coming to power. "The arms of such people should be twisted," Pawan said, literally enacting a virtual action scene in a limited way.
"The Kavathu (on Saturday) is meant to remind the government that it is bound by the Constitution and that leaders are accountable to people. It's meant to remind everyone from local leaders to the leaders in New Delhi that they are accountable. It's not enough if you give high-sounding speeches. You have betrayed the Telugu people. Those who can take part in the Kavathu can participate in it. Those who can't, we seek their blessings," Pawan said.
He found fault with the description that Jana Sena is a party catering to just one caste. "When we establish parties, you remember caste. But when you run parties, they are not casteist?" Pawan asked.
