Jana Sena's 'Kavathu' on Monday in Dowleswaram is in the news not for any new thing that Pawan Kalyan spoke of but because of the numbers it successfully attracted. The march was a huge hit, and many are saying that it's Pawan's mini 'Power Star' moment in politics.
During his long speech, the chief touched upon familiar issues. The failure of the TDP government to secure special status, the injustice meted out to weaker sections of the society, inhumane development as evidenced by SEZs, Chandrababu Naidu's failure to create jobs for youngsters, Jagan Mohan Reddy's unsavoury style of politics, etc are some of them. He emphasized that empowerment of local bodies is crucial.
Pawan minced no words to say that he would like to become CM with people's support as the CM 'kurchi' is not hereditary, hitting out at Jagan and Nara Lokesh.
Commentators are of the view that the huge success of the 'Kavathu' owes to the fact that it was held in the Kapu stronghold. There are rumours that Jana Sena is looking at maximizing its potential in the Kapu-dominated regions without spreading itself thin in those regions where it has no strong base.
