On a day when a statue of Alluri Seetharama Raju is being unveiled at Andhra Pradesh's Bhimavaram as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has eulogized the legendary freedom fighter in a statement issued through the Jana Sena Party.
"On behalf of Jana Sainiks and the people of Andhra Pradesh, I hereby extend my sincere thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for unveiling a 30-ft statue. It's gladdening to note that a statue has been unveiled in memory of a hero who resides in our hearts," Pawan Kalyan said, thanking Union Minister Kishan Reddy for extending an invite to him for the Bhimavaram event.
Power Star added that the statue unveiling will now spread awareness about the great freedom fighter across the world. Pawan hinted that the Centre is doing the right thing by commemorating the icons of various regions in India as part of a cultural festival.
The Bhimavaram event has also been attended by former Union Minister and Rajya Sabha MP Chiranjeevi on an invite.
