Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan has expressed his gratitude to Oscar-winning music director MM Keeravani for creating a special audio recording of the "Narayana Mantra." The gesture comes amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding the use of ghee in the preparation of Tirumala Laddu, the famed prasadam of the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple.
The issue has sparked widespread concern among Hindu organizations and devotees, with both the SIT and the Supreme Court actively investigating the matter. In response to the controversy, many devotees have been performing pujas, homas, and bhajans in temples, seeking divine intervention.
Pawan Kalyan, deeply affected by the controversy, initiated a period of penance and encouraged the recitation of the "Narayana Mantra" for propitiation. To support this initiative, MM Keeravani, known for his devotional music, recorded a special audio version of the mantra, specifically for public chanting.
Pawan Kalyan's acknowledgment of Keeravani's contribution highlights the importance of religious practices and the power of music in providing solace and strength during times of hardship. The use of the specially recorded "Narayana Mantra" audio is expected to further enhance the devotional atmosphere surrounding the ongoing controversy and provide comfort to those seeking divine intervention.
This call comes in light of the recent controversy surrounding the use of adulterated ghee in the preparation of Tirumala Srivari Laddu Prasadam, a sacred offering. Pawan Kalyan emphasized the need for devotees to seek forgiveness from Lord Venkateswara, the presiding deity of Kali Yuga, for the desecration of the much-revered laddu prasadam.
The issue has sparked significant political debate, with widespread outrage over the desecration. In response, Pawan Kalyan has taken a leadership role by initiating a spiritual penance (Prayaschitta Deeksha). He has called upon Hindus across the globe to protest this sacrilege and atone by chanting the sacred mantra.
Pawan Kalyan expressed his deep sorrow over the adulteration of the laddu prasadam, which holds great spiritual significance for millions of devotees. He stated, "The laddu, beloved by devotees around the world, has been tainted, and this injustice cannot go unanswered." He urged all Hindus to participate in the chanting of Om Namo Narayanaya as a collective plea for divine forgiveness and to uphold the sanctity of the Tirumala temple and its time-honored traditions.
The Deputy CM's atonement journey began on September 22 at the Sridasavatara Venkateswara Swamy temple in Nambur, Guntur district, where he took initiation. This 11-day penance will conclude on October 2, after visiting Tirumala’s Edukondala Swamy (Lord Venkateswara). As part of the penance, Pawan Kalyan will walk up to Tirumala via the Alipiri stairway and offer prayers on the sacred hill.
His visit to Tirumala is scheduled for October 1 and 2, where he will follow a detailed spiritual routine. After arriving at Renigunta by a special flight from Gannavaram on Tuesday afternoon, Pawan Kalyan will begin his journey up the Alipiri stairs. Upon reaching Tirumala at 9 PM, he will stay overnight, continuing his prayers.
On Wednesday morning, Pawan Kalyan, adorned with the diksha mal*, will have a special darshan of Lord Venkateswara between 10 AM and 11 AM. He will inspect the laddu prasadam sales center and visit the Vengamamba Annadana Satra to examine the rice prasadam offered to the devotees. Later, he will meet with TTD officials to discuss the issues surrounding the laddu prasadam. After completing his penance on Thursday, he will participate in the Varahi Sabha in Tirupati before heading back to Vijayawada.
Pawan Kalyan’s atonement journey has captured the attention of devotees and political figures alike, with his call to chant Om Namo Narayanaya resonating deeply within the Hindu community. This initiative underscores his commitment to preserving the sanctity of Tirumala and its sacred traditions.
