Pawan Kalyan has said that the rape of the 8-year-old Asifa in J&K proves once again that the safety of girls/women is abysmal in our society.
"Even in broad daylight, women are not safe. Two years back, we were shooting for a film in some state in India. About 100 men misbehaved with 40-50 women in our unit. They tried to force themselves upon our women. Every man in the unit, including me, had to take up sticks and threaten them. If this is the situation that women in a crowded place face, imagine what they have to go through in other places," Pawan Kalyan said.
He proposed that public caning should be introduced in India to scare potential rapists. "Only Singapore-style caning can instill fear in these monsters. A judge recently opined that castration of genitals should be the punishment for rapists. But Jana Sena proposes public caning," Pawan said.
