'Guru', an official remake of 'Irudhi Suttru' ('Salaa Khadoos' in Hindi), is directed by Sudha Kongaru. While Venkatesh is reprising Madhavan in this action-drama, Ritika Singh is reprising herself.

The news is that Ritika Singh, a village girl who is a boxing enthusiast, is playing Power Star's Pawan Kalyan fan in this film. (In the original, she was a fan of Dhanush.) Looks like the makers thought it apt to show her as a Pawan fan as the actor himself is trained in martial arts like Karate. In 'Johnny', he played a boxer himself. Surely, the idea will draw much applause from the masses.

The fact that Venky and Pawan are good friends in real life has also also helped.

The fighter's spirit in Venky is to be brought out musically by Santosh Narayanan, and lyrically by Ramajogayya Sastri, Bhaskarabhatla and Srimani. The much-happening Harshavardhan has been roped in as the dialogue-writer. Cinematography is by KA Sakthivel. Editing is by Sathish Surya. Art direction is by Jacki. Stunts are by Stunner Sam. It's produced by S Sashikanth.

The film is expected to hit the screens in December.
