Former IPS officer VV Lakshmi Narayana, often referred to as JD Lakshmi Narayana, on Thursday quit the Jana Sena Party. In an open letter to party chief Pawan Kalyan, he wrote that he is unhappy over the supremo doing films. "You had said that you will dedicate your life to politics. By going back to doing movies, you have shown that you are not strong in your thinking," Lakshmi Narayana stated in his resignation letter.
Pawan Kalyan has welcomed JD's resignation and explained why he needs to do movies. "I respect Lakshmi Narayana garu's decision to quit the party and approve his resignation. I don't own cement factories, power projects, mines or milk factories. Neither do I get plum salaries from the government. All that I have is cinema. A number of families are dependent on me. For their sake, for my party's sake and my own sake, I have the need to do movies," Power Star wrote.
He added, "It would have been good had Lakshmi Narayana garu taken these factors into account in his resignation letter. Even though he is no longer a member of our party, my respect for him will always be the same."
