Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party strongly condemned the recent attack on Sai Dharam Tej, who was campaigning for the party in Kakinada. In a letter, they expressed their deep concern over the incident and demanded serious action against the culprits.

"We strongly condemn the attempt of YSRCP rowdy mobs to attack Sri Sai Dharam Tej during the election campaign in Tatipratti village of Gollaprolu Mandal, Pithapuram Constituency. It is very unfortunate that Sridhar, a local Jana Sainik, suffered a serious head injury after being hit by glass shards thrown by YSRCP mobs. We pray for Sridhar's speedy recovery, who is currently receiving treatment at Pithapuram Government Hospital," the letter read.

The party also highlighted the provocative actions of YSRCP members during the Janasena rally, including attempts to throw stones and glass bottles, which created a tense atmosphere. They criticized the local police for not taking action against the YSRCP members who displayed their party flags and provoked Janasena supporters.

The incident took place during a Janasena campaign rally in Tatiparthi village, Pithapuram constituency, where Sai Dharam Tej narrowly escaped injury when a glass bottle was thrown at him. While Tej was unharmed, a Janasena supporter named Nalla Sridhar was injured in the attack.

The roadshow continued towards the Tatiparthi Gajjalamma temple center, but more incidents occurred, with individuals targeting Tej with drink bottles. Earlier, on the way from Tatiparthi to Chinna Jaggampet, there were confrontations between YSRCP cadres and Janasena leaders and supporters, leading to chaos and tension.

The recent attack on Sai Dharam Tej serves as a stark reminder of the challenges to democracy in Andhra Pradesh. Addressing political violence demands a comprehensive strategy that involves bolstering law enforcement, fostering political tolerance, and ensuring accountability for those responsible. Neglecting these measures could severely impact the state's political environment and democratic integrity.
