Pawan Kalyan's die-hard fans were badly disappointed when planned benefit shows of 'Katamarayudu' were cancelled across Hyderabad due to lack of permission.

Thousands of fans had been waiting with excitement to watch the movie at the stroke of mid-night. They were ready to spend anywhere between Rs. 2000 to Rs. 5000 for a ticket!

It was around 11 p.m. or so that it became clear that there won't be midnight shows. This caused frustration among some of them, who came onto the roads raising angry pro-Power Star slogans. At Kukatpally's theatres like Brahmaramba, they blocked the roads as a mark of "protest".

To dispel the uncontrollable crowds, at a few places, the constables had to resort to mild lathi charge, as per some pics doing the rounds on social media.
