With the Andhra Pradesh Government's so-called war against Uddanam Nephropathy not seeing any progress, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has on Friday said that the recent deadline of 48 hours to address the issue decisively has come to an end.
Pawan stopped consuming solid foods since Thursday. And starting from 5 PM today, he is on a hunger strike for 24 hours. On Saturday, he will do the strike amid people in Srikakulam. The party's activists will do the same in all district headquarters this Saturday. This is as part of the 'Porata Deeksha' of the party.
Jana Sena has demanded that trained para medics should be appointed to diagnose the disease in a timely manner. Mobile screening centres, among others, have been demanded by the party. "Victims should be provided with free medicine in adequate quantity," the party says.
