On a day when the State Election Commission announced the polling date for GHMC elections, Pawan Kalyan has said that the Jana Sena Party will contest the elections based on the wish of the party's grassroots workers.

In a statement on Tuesday, the actor-politician said that his party will be in the fray. He added that, at the divisional level, Jana Sena has been working on people's issues by forming committees. "We have taken the decision to contest the polls respecting the feedback given by our grassroots workers," he said.

Key dates:

The polls will be held on December 1. The result of the election will be out on December 4. The date for filing nominations begins November 18, while the last date for the same is November 20. Scrutiny of the same is November 21. Candidates can withdraw nominations on November 22. Date of repoll if any is December 3.
