Veteran film journalist and legendary film critic Gudipudi Srihari is no more. He breathed his last earlier today due to old age-related ailments.
In a statement, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan condoled Srihari's demise. "His demise has saddened me. Srihari garu wrote a number of reviews and essays in both Telugu and English-language publications for decades. I used to read his reviews with great interest," the 'Bheemla Nayak' actor wrote.
Power Star added that Srihari had chronicled some of the key developments related to Tollywood for decades. He also recalled Srihari's satirical essays in the magazine 'Harivillu'.
Srihari was associated with Eenadu, The Hindu and Sitara, among others. His reviews used to be famous for being spot-on and frank. In an interview a couple of years ago, Srihari said that major Telugu film producers held a meeting in Madras in the 1980s to discuss a strategy to deal with Srihari's reviews. They requested him to be soft in his headlines and one-line blurbs.
