It is reported that a family of pilgrims was yesterday stranded in Ongole after Road Transport Department staff snatched their vehicle to beef up security arrangements for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. The family was on their way to Tirumala. They were told that the vehicle was needed to be a part of the CM's convoy.
Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has condemned the occurrence of such incidents. He called the incident strange. "When the CM of a State visits a place, vehicles are sourced from local transport operators. We have never heard of citizens being forced to part away with a vehicle," the Jana Sena chief today commented.
The 'Bheemla Nayak' actor asked the government if it is so broke as to fail to rent vehicles from private operators. "The government feels that it has the capacity to borrow loans to the tune of lakhs of crores," Pawan said.
He asked why the staff of the Road Transport Department was pressurized to harass tourists in the name of elaborating the CM's convoy.
The incident has come to be widely talked about across social media platforms. It has reminded many of the scene from 'Julayi' where the hero forces a private employee to snatch a two-wheeler on the go with the aim of impressing the heroine.
