With so many voices comparing the meekness with which the people of Andhra Pradesh have responded to the Centre not granting Special Category Status with the determined fight of Tamilians for Jallikattu, Pawan Kalyan has issued a strong political statement.

"Our politicians have a lot to learn from the Tamils. Taking the Jallikattu protests as an inspiration, we should fight for Special Category Status for AP. But I doubt how far our politicians, whose business interests overpower their political commitment, will learn from Jallikattu protests. I am confident that even if the leaders compromise on SCS, our people won't take it lying down," Pawan further said.

Saying that the Centre's decision to let the Tamil Nadu govt's Ordinance revoking Jallikattu get passed is an appropriate decision, Jana Sena Party founder-president Pawan Kalyan has said that in case if this Ordinance was not passed, the protests in Tamil Nadu might have spilled out of control.

"The Centre has shown sagacity before the protests snowballed into the anti-Hindi protests (of the 1960s). There is a danger of protests of this sort happening if Indian cultures/traditions are not respected. It's is inspiring that Tamils protested with unity transcending caste and communal cleavages," Pawan has said in a vocal statement.
