Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan on Sunday commented that the Vizag police have been going overboard. He suggested that they are doing so at the behest of the powers that be. The comments followed his receiving a police notice that explicitly stated that the Jana Vani rally was held despite police not allowing it.
The ruckus that ensued on Saturday while the Visakha Garjana rally was going on, is well known. The YCP government accused Pawan Kalyan and his followers of deliberately timing the Jana Vani on the same day. The actor-politician today said that his party's rally was announced and permissions sought three months earlier.
Pawan also alleged that the Deputy Commissioner of Police was high-handed in his approach. "He was taking instructions over the phone from influential people. So far, 100 JS leaders have been arrested," Pawan said.
"Without dissent, there is going to be the rule of thieves. The YCP rule has become criminal in nature. The arrested leaders and activists have to be released anon," Pawan added, confirming that he would stay put in Vizag till the release of the activists doesn't happen. He also described the 'Kodi Kathi' incident as a farce.
