Ahead of the resumption of the Jana Sena Porata Yatra on June 26, Pawan Kalyan has on Saturday made an appeal to the middle-class sections to be politically active.
"Politics dictates our day-to-day life and how can we be away from it? I have always been clear about politics right from my teen days. All through my life, I have prepared myself to go through all the turbulence and challenges which will come along with politics," Power Star began saying.
"I appeal to the educated classes not to run away from politics out of disgust. The average educated middle-class individual has lost hope and become a pessimist. I also come from a lower middle-class background but I prefer to give a fight than be a mere spectator of my life and surrender to oppressive forces. They make us spineless if we don't put a fight. Let's not lose the fighting spirit," he said in his typical style.
"Middle classes should be active in political decision-making. Don't leave it to political parties and by doing that, we are losing our moral right to question them. At the time of the 1977 Emergency, it was the middle-class intellectuals who fought against it. I am looking forward to the rise of the middle class. And their participation is really needed for our motherland," Pawan said, reminding the people of Emergency.
