Actor-politician Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party (JSP) achieved a remarkable victory by winning all 21 seats it contested in the Andhra Pradesh elections. In a celebratory speech in Pithapuram, where he secured an Assembly seat, Pawan compared his first political triumph to his initial success as an actor.

Speaking in Pithapuram after the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), JSP, and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) alliance won the AP elections, Pawan said, “I haven’t known victory for years now. I lost the elections in 2019, and despite making many films, no one ever told me I was victorious. I’ve been called names and faced many issues. Even today, I didn’t realize how victorious I was until my party won all the seats it contested. Only once, many years ago, did I see a victory like 'Tholi Prema' when I was acting.”

On June 5 (Wednesday), JSP president K. Pawan Kalyan emphasized that "victory in the general elections brings with it a great degree of accountability," and stressed the importance of elected MPs and MLAs justifying their salaries, which come from taxpayers' money.

“The fact that people gave JSP the kind of victory, which perhaps no regional party in the country ever got to relish, puts tremendous responsibility on the shoulders of the elected representatives,” he pointed out. He urged them to serve the public to the best of their abilities and maintain transparency.

Addressing the newly-elected JSP MPs and MLAs at the party office near Mangalagiri, Mr. Kalyan vowed to continue standing by the people in tough times and expected the same commitment from his colleagues, who were entrusted with significant hope as they entered the Lok Sabha and Legislative Assembly.

During the meeting, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan and TDP leader S.V.S.N. Varma underscored the importance of decorum in public discourses, noting that the State was facing a severe crisis and that the MPs and MLAs should exert every effort to fulfill the people's demands.

Pawan Kalyan also highlighted the need to combat corruption, which had been rampant over the last five years, urging party leaders to always remain accessible to the masses.

JSP political affairs committee chairman and Tenali MLA-elect Nadendla Manohar, party general secretary K. Nagababu, and S.V.S.N. Varma, former MLA of TDP in Pithapuram, were among the prominent attendees at the meeting.
