Powerstar Pawan Kalyan's Telugu film 'Katamarayudu' has taken a tremendous opening in Chennai mainly due to the no bears hold support of fans of Thala Ajith.

'Katamaryadu' is the Telugu remake of 2014 super hit Ajith starrer 'Veeram' and that's enough for Thala fan brigade to ensure that 'Katamaryadu' gets a great visibility and opening in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu.

'Katamaryadu' has been screened in 14 theaters across Chennai in its first weekend. The film had 104 shows screened in three days and with that the film has collected Rs.32,80,170 with 85% occupancy.

Box Office pundits call it a 'Very Good Opening' for a direct Telugu film in Chennai.

It is worth noting that Shruti Haasan who played the female lead in Ajith's previous blockbuster 'Vedalam' has played the female lead in 'Katamarayadu'.
