Patient man waits for recovery

Uday Kiran’s career in recent times has been bit of ICU case. Like a patient on life-supporting system, he has been waiting for some divine intervention.

And it came through Prakash Raj, the ebullient actor who is now a talent-backing producer.

It was Prakash Raj who defiantly decided to cast Uday in his home production Abaddam, the bilingual directed by veteran K Balachander.

Now when the movie is almost complete (the film’s audio is splendid), Uday is a relieved man.

The man who liked a patient now feels that his patience will be vindicated.

Saying that ups and downs are part of every career and life, Uday Points out that it all depends upon your mental strength.

He feels it is all destiny that he ended up acting under K Balachander who has been mentor to stalwarts like Kamal and Rajini. ‘It is a blessing to be part of his movie,’ he says without any exaggeration.

Apart Uday, the film features newcomer Vimala Raman, Sridhar and Geetu Mohandas. Balachander himself is also playing an interesting character.

The movie has been shot extensively in Colombo.
