Pathumma gets jury mention

The pride of Karnataka in business and entertainment field Basanthkumar Patil latest venture ‘Pathumma’ gets the special jury mention at the 23rd Kolkata International Film Festival held from 10th to 17th of November. It is Hiralal Sen Memorial award for director of the film ‘Pathumma’ director  Panchakshari and producer Basanth Kumar Patil.

‘Pathuma’ is the 20th film of former actor of 70’s and now multi talented businessman and producer Basanth Kumar Patil. Patil films in Padmasri Girish Kasaravalli, P Seshadri and Ananya Kasaravalli have won state, national and international acclaim.

CEO of Basanth Productions and chain of business enterprise Mr Patil says ‘Pathumma’ is a story that captures all the tension and conflicts unleashed by the call of Babri Masjid at Ayodhya. It is based on Mr Boluwar Mohammad Kunhi story titled ‘A Piece of the Wall’ – Ondu Thundu Gode. ‘Pathumma’ captures the erasure of harmony in a remote place in coastal Karnataka marked by peaceful co existence of different communities. The film is also about the protagonist Pathumma and her courageous fight against all odds.
