Sai Karthik may not have delivered an album with high-powered pataas, but it manages to entertain.
With lyrics by Srimani, Bhuvanachandra, Subbaraya Sharma and Tadaila Bapu, the album is rendered by the likes of Ranjith and Rahul Nambiar.
Dhamki Maro
Artist: Tippu
Lyricist: Srimani
It's a typical hero-centric song with the regular dosage of taking on the system and the chorus chorusing about how he is their God. Tippu's voice is apt for a hero like Kalyan Ram. The music by Sai Karthik passes muster, all that can be said is that he has given a tune that has enough punch to make a mark with the mass audience.
Osi Chinnadanna
Artist: Rahul Nambiar
Lyricist: Srimani
The folksy beats to begin with make an impression. Srimani as "Sri Many" leaves his mark by penning lyrics peppered with English words. Rahul Nambiar is cut out for delivering songs for heroes who want to reach out to the masses. And his vocals for this song yet again proves this very fact. Overall, Sai Karthik doesn't give a remarkable tune.
Power Unnodu
Artist: Ranjith
Lyricist: B. Subbaraya Sharma
The song is situational enough to be one placed in an intense moment of storytelling. Subbaraya Sharma's lyrics sound like those many numbers that speak volumes about the hero's muscle power and mindset. Ranjith, like Rahul Nambiar, can lend a masculine feel to any number and this one is no exception. Sai Karthik uses good instrumentation to gloss over the musical poverty.
Tappa Tappam
Artists: MLR Karthikeyan, Suchitra
Lyricist: Tadaila Bapu
This is yet another song with a massy touch. This one completes the album's massy streak with a bang. Karthikeyan and Suchitra prove to be very good choices as they lend it life. The lyrics come along as innovative rather than being rip off of some item song. Sai Karthik delivers the best one for the song, although the imprint of influences don't go unnoticed.
Arey O Samba (Remix)
Artists: Jaspreet Jasz, Divija Karthik
Lyricist: Bhuvanachandra
This one is high on pataas power. Perhaps, this one had always to be there. Jaspreet Jasz and Divija Karthik deliver a dekko. Bhuvanachandra marshals his lyrics and laces it with modish touch.
Verdict: An album that passes muster.
