Today is the birthday of director Pandiraj.

Pandiraj made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed hit film 'Pasanga' which also won the National Award for the Best film in Tamil, the National Award for Best Dialogues and also the National Award best Child Artist for two children- Kishore and Sreeram who had acted in the film .With that film, Pandiraj carved a niche for himself as a director who could handle the kids world with the sensitivity it calls for. This was evidenced in his later films 'Marina' and 'Pasanga 2' both of which were critically acclaimed.

The filmography of Pandiraj also includes commercial entertainers such as 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga', 'Kathakali' and 'Idhu Namma Aalu'.

He is also highly admired as a dialogue writer. He penned the dialogues for the critically acclaimed super hit film 'Goli Soda'.

As a director Pandiraj is the one who introduced Arulnithi and Sivakarthikeyan to Kollywood as heroes with his 'Vamsam' and 'Marina'. While the former has been acting in different genres of films and earning good name. the latter has now become one of the top league stars of Tamil cinema with back to back super hits.

Pandiraj is currently producing the film 'Sema' with GV Prakash Kumar in the lead role. The film is being directed by his former associate Vallikanth. Pandiraj has also penned the dialogues for this film.
