After the 2018 Fahadh Faasil starrer 'Carbon', filmmaker Venu back with an interesting project. Venu is adapting Sahitya Akademi Award-winning writer Uroob’s popular short story ‘Rachiyamma’. Parvathy plays the title character alongside Asif Ali, who will be essaying an important role. The movie marks the reunion of Parvathy and Asif Ali after their last superhit movie 'Uyare'.

Parvathy's makeover for 'Rachiyamma' has already won the hearts of the audience. A working still of the actress from the sets of the movie is out and those who have read the story can easily relate to Parvathy’s look in it. It may be remembered that earlier, there was a serial in Doordarshan based on the same story, that featured Sona Nair with a similar look.

Interestingly, 'Rachiyammma' is one among the four women-centric stories from an upcoming anthology that has films by ‘Ezra’ fame Jay K, Rajeev Ravi, Venu, and Aashiq Abu. 'Rachiyamma' is currently in the post-production phase. Jay K’s story features Samyuktha Menon and Joju George in the leads. Aashiq Abu’s film ‘Pennum Cherukkanum’ features Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran in the leads.
