Recently, actress Archana openly said that a big Tollywood star had made a sexual advance to her. When she refused to give into his demands, she found her role badly abridged in the final edit. A few weeks later, Sruthi Hariharan, a Kannada actress, lamented that casting couch is most prevalent in Tollywood.

Malayalam actress Parvathy Menon has said something similar about her home industry, Mollywood. The talented girl has been quoted as saying that she was asked to sleep with this or that director/producer/actor and every time, she bluntly said 'No'. However, she hasn't faced such a scenario in other film industries down South.

Casting couch is of course a reality, without doubt, especially when you are talking about a non-star actress. No less than Sarathkumar's daughter Varalakshmi faced it when an editor made an advance to her!
